California Privacy Notice

Last updated May 31, 2026. Your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

Scope

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to California residents. It explains your CCPA/CPRA rights and how to exercise them.

Categories of personal information we collect

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents:

  • Identifiers — name, email, phone, IP address, firm name.
  • Customer records — billing contact, account credentials (portal users).
  • Commercial information — services requested or purchased.
  • Internet activity — pages viewed, referring sites, basic analytics (only if you consent to analytics cookies).
  • Geolocation (general) — derived from IP address.
  • Professional/employment info — firm and role.
  • Content you submit — messages, AI Assistant prompts, case-related documents (in the portal).

  • Directly from you (forms, calls, emails, portal).
  • Automatically from your device (browser, server logs).
  • From service providers (e.g., hosting, email delivery, analytics if enabled).

Purposes

  • Provide and improve our services.
  • Respond to inquiries.
  • Send transactional communications and (with your consent) the newsletter.
  • Security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

Sale and sharing

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under CCPA/CPRA.

Your rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you.
  • Delete personal information we have collected about you (subject to exceptions).
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Portability — receive your information in a portable format.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
  • Opt out of any sale or sharing for targeted advertising (we don't currently do either).
  • Non-discrimination — we won't penalize you for exercising any of these rights.

How to exercise your rights

We'll verify your identity before fulfilling the request. We respond within 45 days; complex requests may take an additional 45 days with notice.

You may use an authorized agent. The agent must provide written, signed authorization, and we will still verify your identity directly.

Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy and to meet our legal obligations. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe any time using the link in any email.

Changes

We will update this notice when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
